THIS JUST IN... From CBS Daytime... DAYTIME DRAMA STAR GRANT ALEKSANDER RESURRECTS HIS ROLE AS PHILLIP SPAULDING ON "GUIDING LIGHT," MONDAY, FEB. 9 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
In the land of daytime dramas when you are shot "dead," there's a good possibility that you might turn up again years later. Such is the case of Phillip Spaulding (Grant Aleksander), who was shot by his father Alan (Ron Raines) in 2004. On Monday, Feb. 9 (check local listings), Aleksander will return to GUIDING LIGHT after a five-year hiatus from the show, and shake up the town of Springfield. Phillip was presumed dead after the shooting, though most of Springfield discovered sometime later he had survived, only to be hidden away by his father. Now they are in for another shock when he makes a sudden, surprise return to town.
Phillip comes home to Springfield when he learns his daughter's ex-boyfriend is looking for him, and stumbles upon the wedding ceremony of his ex-wife, Beth (Beth Chamberlin), who is about to marry his father, Alan. The dramatic turn of events will have a profound impact on the lives of everyone involved.
A native of Baltimore, Aleksander played the role of Phillip Spaulding from 1983 to 1993, and then again from 1996 to 2004. He recently made a guest appearance in "Life on Mars" and has appeared on "All My Children." He has also directed episodes of "As The World Turns."

John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston Split?
Posted by bloggergal | 11:16 AM | celebrity dish | 0 comments »Either John Mayer has split from Jennifer Aniston or they have a very open relationship, says In Touch Weekly. The musician was allegedly spotted on an intimate date with a beautiful blond woman at Marix Tex Mex Restaurant in Santa Monica on January 28. “They were obviously on a date,” an insider tells In Touch.” He came in with her another time too and I’ve seen them out together.” While the two keep their romance under wraps, John couldn’t hold back his feelings for her when saying goodbye. “He gave her a long kiss before they left,” adds the insider. “John has been here six times in the last two weeks but never with Jen." John, 31, and Jen, 39, split last August after dating for several months, but found it difficult to go their separate ways. The two rekindled their romance in October when they were seen having dinner at New York City's romantic Il Mulino. In early January, the couple was even seen vacationing in Cabo San Lucas together.
Larry Birkhead on Raising Dannielynn
Posted by bloggergal | 11:12 AM | celebrity dish, gossip | 0 comments »
Feb. 8 marks the second anniversary of Anna Nicole Smith’s death, and Larry Birkhead has thought long and hard about how to tell Dannielynn, who turns 3 on Sept. 7, about her late mother, who died tragically at age 39 from a drug overdose at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
“Right now, I tell her this cute fairy tale. There was a handsome young man named Larry who met a beautiful woman named Anna at the Kentucky Derby. I also use puppets to tell her about how we met.”
As Dannielynn gets older and starts going to school, where other little girls will be talking about their daddies and mommies, Larry is preparing himself to answer the tough questions his daughter will ask.
“I think the kids will say things to her when she starts going to school,” says Larry. “At that point, I’ll think about what I’ll tell her. Kids learn things at school. When I grew up, you talked about sex at a certain age, death at a certain age. You just deal with things as they come. Life’s a big puzzle right now.”
But Larry is confident Dannielynn will be fine no matter what. “She doesn’t know she’s a famous baby,” he says. “She knows her daddy, cousin, cartoons, toys — things that make her happy. I make sure that’s all she has to worry about.”
